A Friday night's dream on Saturday told,...

"A Friday night's dream on Saturday told, Is due to come true be it never so old"
Which does the bold part mean?

1. Though it may take some time before your dream comes true
2. I hope it won't take long before your dream comes true

Well, I don't think much of the comments on Japan Forum, nekocat. ' Be it never so old ' = 'even though it is not very old' (that is, it is only one day old). Compare ' be it ever so old ', which means ' even though it is very old '.

My mother used to say this all the time. I NEVER tell my Friday night dreams for fear they will come true (good or bad). I have this weird feeling that even a good dreams lies something bad.

I have since been asked, what if the dreams are good? Then can you tell the dream and it will be good?
