Letter Writing
A formal letter
Hello,
I have to send a formal letter to The New Yorker but, I don`t know how to begin it.
I have sent four stories and they declined three of them saying that they were unable to use the material I had submitted. They didn`t tell me in their letter if they accepted or declined the fourth too so I decided to ask them about it.
Should I begin the letter with ' Dear Editors' and then write:
As I sent you four stories and you declined the three of them I wonder if you have accepted the fourth or not.
Should I say the 'fourth one' or 'the fourth story'? and then and my letter :
