Please help me to correct if I got mistakes.

Kampung Priya is a small village. There were (about / almost) a hundred people( living peaceful and harmonic). Last Sunday morning, there was a thunderstorm (followed by lightning). It rained continuously without stopping (for a few hours). After a few hours, the whole village was flood. They were afraid and became homeless.

The police came with lorries. They sent villagers to school nearby for a shelter. They moved all their belongings like clothes, important documents and so on to the truck. After half an hour, they reached the school. All victims were grateful for their / the police's help.

That day, villagers received a lot of food and necessity things which was /were donated from / by the enthusiasts. They spent a few days staying in school until the heavy rain stopped / was over. They helped each other if they had problems. A few days later, the victims were happy to return home. They had to clean up their house with dirt and mud. It is really headche thing for them.
