A few questions

Hello. I have a few questions. I hope you will help me.

1. There have been technical problems at/on the sailing boat.

As I mean below the deck as well, not only on board, I would say 'at', but I am not sure.

2. Is this syntax ok?

The chain of the machine, not extended by a chord, was just 2 metres long.

The chain of the machine, non-extended by a chord, was just 2 metres long.

I think 'not' is ok here..maybe 'non + adjective' has to come before a noun, and not after it?

, for example : A non-extended chain

3. Thus, this problem is considered as a latent defect during the selling procedure and is likely/ is the reason to annul the sale.

4. Not only does it make the life on the board very difficult but it also proves that there was an important repair work history, which is absent in the sale files.

5. Do we say that a boat or its element 'let in water'?

6. I propose that we solve this problem coming to an amicable agreement.

7. I suggest you contact Mr Brown and discuss the problem together/ between yourself to know how to solve it best.

8. My lawyer is familiar with the affair.

9. I propose that you contact me before the end of December to solve the problem amicably, otherwise juridical proceedings will be started.

I would be grateful if you would help me.

Thank you in advance.
