Hi

I vacationed in America. --- if I write: I spent summer in America OR I went on a trip to America it will also be fine I suppose.

My friend and I. --- how about: My friend and me???

We had gotten temporary jobs in Queens. --- how about: We had got temporary jobs in Queens. I guess "gotten" is AmE.

...all of them with their sirens blaring. --- how about: ...all of them with their sirens going.

Thanks

Newguest My try: I vacationed in America. --- if I write: I spent summer in America OR I went on a trip to America it will also be fine I suppose. --- I wouldn't object to your sentences but when you say vacationed, you don't say us how much time you spent there but with I spent my summer at least we have an idea.
