Can I say,

(a) They came to the counter in five minutes. They came (to) the counter.

(b) He went to the supermarket that is near his house. The supermarket held (a) grand sale / held grand sales.

(c) Suddenly he heard a cried. While he past a corner / he turned a corner,

he saw a boy crying.

While he past a corner / he turned a corner, he saw a boy crying which

stood in a corner.

(d) The boy looked / seemed panic.

The boy was in a panic.

(f) He asked the reason why was the boy crying/ why he is crying.

(g) They thanked for Jenny's help.

They were thankful to her.

(h) The shopping complex was crowded and noisy.

There was crowded with many family.

(i) They made an announcement to the supermarket.
