A few corrections

Can I say,

It was almost three in the morning while Peter saw a boat appearing on the horizon. He thought that his father had returned with the catch of the day made him happy.

As the boat drew nearer and nearer, he was disappointed to find that it was too much too new to be in his father's boat. He gazed at it sadly as it reached the shore a few metres away from him.
