A few and few issue ..

Hi there,

I just want to make sure that my understanding of this issue is O.K. .. I made up two sentences showing the difference in use between the two words:

Even though the exam was easy; few student got full marks.

Even though the exam was difficult; a few students could get the full mark.

Do the sentences deliver the right meaning of each word?
