I've come across that expression in the Guardian's sport report: "Great goal from the Spaniard, holding off the considerable figure of Matt Mills, rounding the Nottingham Forest keeper and slotting in. There’s a few afters with Mills but he’s up on his feet and off to celebrate with the jubilant Gooners in the stands. Lovely stuff."

I'm not familiar with this use of "afters". It seems to have something to do with being knocked to the ground, I suppose, but your guess is as good as mine. It sounds like the sort of thing you'll need to find out from a speaker of British English.
