I need help.Which meaning of few does the following convey?Few people died in the accident.A few people died in the accident.Or is the first sentence isn't even grammatically correct?Thanks

This is tricky. Few is used in a general sense, while a few is used to refers to a specific group.
Few fruits make juice as good as an orange. ~ There are a few rotten oranges in that basket.
Few people truly understand the threat of global warming. ~ A few scientists are actively working on the case.
That student is interested in few subjects at school. ~ He really likes a few of his teachers.

As for your sentences, depending on the point of view, either could be considered correct.
Few people died in the accident, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. ~ A few people died in the accident, but I'm not sure exactly how many.
