a dream comes true

I have found this sentence on a student's written task. It is a preparatory exercise for their exam. I am not sure whether I should correct it: "It was fantastic to see live celebrities as Robert de Niro, Matt Damon and my favourite actor Johnny Depp, what was a dream has become reality".

My suggestion is:
"It was fantastic to see celebrities live such as ... and my favourite actor Johnny Depp. What was a dream has become a reality! / It was like a dream coming true! "
Do you think my suggestions are appropriate or am I making it worseEmotion: embarrassed?
Thank you for your help Emotion: rose!

You are right. There has to be a full stop after 'Depp' and your suggestions are both fine. Rover
