You want to build a randon pattern of dominos. Just a regular line of them.
Which one is correct?
1. Build domino.
2. Build a domino.

I am not considering the options with extra nouns right after 'domino'.

Neither is correct,. Say eg Make a line of dominoes. 'Build' is not wrong, but it sounds a bit like you are putting dominoes on top of dominoes.
