MadhulkTarget's a deal (by far?) too close. Can we have ...I wouldn't say "by far". No. I'd say "The target is quite a bit too close", which is not quite as extreme as "The target is much too close".

a deal = an amount. In this form, it's rather archaic.Today we'd say 'It's a good/great deal too close'.
