Can I say,

The watermelon is the creeper plant.

The watermelon plant is the creeper.

Thanks, but creeper is a kind of plants. Do we need to mention twice?

You could say: Watermellon is a creeper. No need to say "plant" as well.

Had you not already told me, I would have looked up "creeper" in my dictionary and I would have seen that it meant: any plant that grows along the ground, around another plant, or up a wall by means of extending stems or branches.
