1.Is there such a structure ' How late was/am I?' to ask about how much time I am late for?

2.Is 'to be scalded' the proper expression to describe I am burned by a hot pan?

3.If I overcooked something, how to describe the state where the food got black in color? I scorched my food? I burned my food?
