A Cornucopia of Comma Confusion – BE

1. The sign said 'Keep Off the Grass.'
(I say no comma after 'said' because the sign didn't actually speak.)

2. The sentence read 'Two wrongs don't make a right.'
(I say no comma after 'read', correct?)

3. When she said 'Go to hell!' I became very upset.
(No comma after 'said' here, too, right? Not sure whether a comma should follow the quote after 'hell!'.)

4. When he said 'Don't do me like that', Tom Petty chuckled.
(Comma outside the single quote after 'that' as shown?)

5. 'I refuse to go through with it,' he said.
(In this case the comma goes inside the quote mark. Good?)

Thanks.
