Another file in the Atlas Group Archives, titled I Only Wish that I Could Weep, contains the “found” videotapes of “Operator 17,” an intelligence officer of the Lebanese army who since 1997 was assigned to eavesdrop or spy on individuals circulating on the Corniche, a boardwalk on the sea in Beirut. The tapes feature a sunset presumably shot from that boardwalk; these conventionally beautiful images of the changing colors of a sunset on the beach,
