A confusing sentence. Thanks

Dear all,

Could you let me know which response is better? Thank you.

Were you born in this town?

(a) I am sure. It 's a great place.

(b) Yes, and I don't have plans to leave.

I think B is correct, but it sounds a little bit strange because the question didn't ask if he/she want to move to other places.

In a conversation, prior context (not included) could make either one possible.
Of course (b) is the more likely.

To ask "Which is better?" seems like a strange question,
