Hi guys,

Is the expression "a clothes" correct in grammar?

(Ex. "He was putting a clothes on the hanger.")

It's somewhat confusing to me.

If I say "some clothes", does that also mean "a piece of clothes" like a dress?

Not really.

He was putting "an article of clothing" or "a piece of clothing" would work. He was hanging up the clothes. (That implies more than one thing.)
