A cinch

Hello!
Quoting a song by L. Ronstadt "it's a cinch that I've been wrong..."
what does it mean here? "It's obvious...?" "It's true...?"
I think I've come upon uses of "it's a cinch" where I understood it as "it's easy".
What's the exact meaning of the expression?
Thanks in advance...

The American Heritage Dictionary gives these definitions for the noun "cinch":

1. A girth for a pack or saddle. 2. A firm grip. 3. Something easy to accomplish. See synonyms at breeze. 4. A sure thing; a certainty.

The fourth one ("A sure thing; a certainty.") is the one in the song.
