A character trait description?

I'm writing an essay on the character traits of major heroes in Greek Epics. For one of the heroes I want to use the trait that he is able to see past his mistakes and are willing to accept them and make right with the people he offended. I wanted to use the trait "self-aware". Is there a better or more accurate character trait that would be able to describe this?

Hi It's a good question. It depends on how the story of the hero goes "Self-aware" is good, but it doesn't really say that he wants to make things right with people that he's offended Suggestions for words that give this meaning are... - conscience-stricken - penitent Both of these have strong moral meanings that might not work in your context - but that's my suggestion Best regards, Dave
