A change / chances to study, travel, and work

1. You gave me a change to study, travel, and work in the country.
2. You gave me chances to study, travel, and work in the country.

Which one is correct? I think that the second is grammatically correct.

What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as usual.

Emotion: sweating I am sorry for the lame mistake. It should be a chance.

Both are possible. You do not need the plural just because three things are mentioned. One chance could lead to all three being possible. It just depends on whether, in the context, you perceive that there was one chance or several.
