A books library & a movie list

Hi all,

I am a bit confused why we sometimes use a books library, in this case books (plural), a movie list, movie (singular). If I say a movies list, is that confusing to native speakers?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Allison

Nobody I know would ever say a books library . We just call it a library and assume that we can borrow books from it. A book list and a movie list are both commonly heard.
