Thanks for your answering.

1) Is there any possibility to use "big an apple", and how it makes differences in meaning?

2) Is there any exception that "a/an" follows nous rather than the subject? For example is there any exception that we use "an big apple" instead of "a big apple" for some grammatical reasons? One of students asked me, she was told that "a/an" follows noun rather

I'm not sure what you're asking but sometimes you can hear

This one is not as big an apple as that one. (This apple is not as big as that apple/(that one))

I've eaten many an apple in my life. (= I've eaten many apples in my life)

"an big apple" isn't possible.
