A B- line?

Isn't that supposed to make a B SHAPE?!
Goodness gracious, I just watched a Dane Cook stand up show and heard him say that word.
Hmmm, what does B line have to do with straight forward?

I'm sorry, KawtharK, but with the exception of the first one, which I take literally to mean "in the shape of the letter B" I'm not sure what these mean. The "B-word" is the way to say a not-nice word that starts with B and rhymes with witch.

I believe it refers to the path a bee takes in returning to the hive, after having collected a load of nectar.

Edit. Hmmm, reading GG's post, I think you (K.K.) were expressing surprise that a B-line would be straight, when (if it were the line of the letter B) it should be quite crooked.

Oi that makes sense!

Thanks!

Oh, of course! He made a bee line for the door at quitting time. A fast and direct approach. Thanks Avangi!

Hi,
Let me just point out that the standard dictionary spelling is 'beeline', not 'B-line'.

Thanks, Clive. (That would have rendered this thread moot.)

Yeah I've reckoned, thank you for pointing this out though
