Hi.
I just found this sentence below. Is indefinite article here used correctly?

In 1966 the Oriental Bird Club showed that the Oriental region alone was found to contain a staggering 2,435 bird species.

Yes -- because of the adjective ("staggering") it's correct to use "a" here. (You would never simply say "a 2,435 species.")
