Daniel was overwhelmed with a sense of disgust at the sight of his life long friend. He felt every syllable Mark spoke depicting the act to come as a betrayal of their friendship,which in turn sent a subsequent wave of negative emotions to wash over Daniel. Every instinct he had telling him to stop this planning before its fruition came to pass was subsequently quenched by his compulsion to satisfy his own twisted ends. Fixating on this he began to run over the events in his head, the main objective which initially horrified him became less so.

The dimly lit room was a reflection of the two that inhabited it. As both men lay quite still mimicking the inanimate quality's of their non-existent furniture and with equal immunity to the reality of the squalor the silence was broken.

“How would we get away with?” Daniel asked.

With this statement he had given his approval of the events to come but seemed no longer concerned with the emotional ramifications as his ability to feel them had be inhibited by the toxins now polluting his bloodstream.

With every passing moment of the long pause to follow the two became less in need or of want of the normal time parameters that go with a normal conversation.
