40th year (singular/plural)

Hi,

I just wanted to write "40th year" for an anniversary. But when looking for pictures on the internet,I found a lot

"40th years", which seems not correct for me, but I'm confused. Which one is correct?

When we use 40th/30th.. we have to continue singular, or not?
