The first reason for this is to help students hone practical skills such as analytical, problem-solving, logical thinking skill, which are often essential for future jobs. Secondly, it allows them land well-paid jobs. For example, employers from multinationals put emphsis on academic results of the candidates to offer salaries.
On the other hand, there are a host of compelling reasons why I believe that athletic and artistic field should not be underestimated as they are also key to students’ future achievements. The first major point is that non-academic subjects could open up distinct career paths for school-aged individuals. For instance, some pupils endow with an aptitude for drawing might pursue careers such as artists, graphic designers, or architects. In addition, the skills of non-academic disciplines are highly valued in modern workplace. This could be explained by the fact that music and sports may cultivate several skills like collaborative, creativity and adaptability.
In conclusion, while there are many benefits regarding focusing primarily on academic subjects, I still believe that it is more beneficial to include non-academic subjects such as music and sports in the curriculum because they help develop essential interpersonal skills and enhance the development of each student.
