4 sentences to correct

(1) At noon this very day I was given by my employer a load of work to be done until the evening.
(2) Strolling along the beach, I found a pricey mobile phone by chance.
(3) During the final decisive match, there was an apparent fierce competitiveness in the air.
(4) When I switched the TV on, my most favourite serial had been already on the air.

Please, could you have a look at the aspect of naturalness of these sentences?

Thanks in advance.

1. to be done by the evening 4. (some don't like 'most' used with 'favorite' as it already implies the superlative) "had already started" sounds more natural (or "had already been on the air" if it was then over)
