360 vs 180

I'm having a debate with someone. They think that when someone does a 360 (Like their lifestyle). I say it's

Here's the example.

It was said.

Your father did a complete 360 from what he used to be.

My reply was, you mean a 180. She said no, a 360. So I said, well that puts him back to where he used to be. She says everyone says 360.

So what would be proper if he totaly turned his lifestyle around. A 180 or 360?

Yes, geometrically and logically, it is unquestionably a 180. Many people do say 360, though — from a spirit of exaggeration, I suppose. A "180" is a U-turn, a reversal of direction
a "360" is a complete circle, continuing in the same direction
if "turned around" is a metaphor meaning reversal of fortune, situation or condition, than "180" is correct
