0 Train or bus are the two of the most popular transportations to go to destination for us in the world. Where I live, in Japan, where the number of car on the ground is increasing year by year, car is the neccesity for us, Japanese to lead our lives. Personally, I think that goverment in Japan should spend more money on improving road and highways.02br
00 My primary reason lies in characteristic society for car in Japan. For example, in our country, most people get driver's licence when they come an age and have each car. This mean as the number of owners of car increases, the number of car on road in our country steadily increases. As a result, increased number of cars causes conjested roads at rush hour. I also drive at rush hour in the morning and have difficult in calculating time to arrive at destination for conjested roads at rush hour. Drives at rush hour would becomes flexible if roads would be improved by increasing number of those or enlarging those. However, although improvement of bus or train would benefit us to the certain extent, they contain disadvantage of waiting time and distance to walk to stations or bus stops, for which people tend to avoid utilizing those.02br
00 Another reason is that the improvement of highways of our country would advance economical and industrial development. One example of this is that Japan is relatively narrower as for land than other countries. Traveling from Hokkaido, northmost island to Okinawa, southernmost island by plane, we spend only several hours. Car will, however, be sufficient for trip without passing ocean. The purposes such as shopping or work to distant places would apply to use of highways best as mean of travel, because it is cheaper than to use plane, and most people have each car. People driving to distant places for shopping will increase, if highways is improved by increasing number of those, and it will definitely cause economical and industrial development. However, although train or bus , surely, also contribute to it, those lack flexibility for completely determined leaving and arrival time and routes.02br
