3 situations I've explained, could you say sentences?

Here are the 3 situations, I'd like to know if you could say these sentences in this context?

1 You are shopping with a girlfriend of yours and you say

"Don't tell me you tried on all these dressed only to buy the first one you tried on."

"We didn't wait here for you to try on all these dresses so that you would buy the first one you had tried on."

Which of these can be said and is it natural?

2 You are on the subway and sitting on your sister's lap, you don't want to hurt her.

"I was sitting on my sisters lap. I didn't want to put all my weight on her so I put most of my weight on my legs and strained my calf muscle."

Does this make sense? how would you express it?

3 You are a video clerk and you are talking to someone who wants to rent a movie.

"I know and seen all the videos we have in store and the best part about this movie is at the 55th minute when he goes to see his ex girlfriend drunk."

Thank you

In the first instance, the first sentence is correct and sounds more natural. In the second, you have stated the situation correctly and it sounds natural. For the third, I would say: I know have seen all the videos we have in the store.

  • In the first instance, the first sentence is correct and sounds more natural.
  • In the second, you have stated the situation correctly and it sounds natural.
  • For the third, I would say: I know have seen all the videos we have in the store.
  • The best part about this movie is occurs in the 55th minute when the lead character (or whoever) is drunk and goes to see his girlfriend.
  • "goes to see his girlfriend drunk" makes it unclear whether the male character is going to view his girlfriend while she is in a drunken state, or whether he is drunk and going to see her.
