There was energy in the way he held himself.

There was energy in the way how he held himself.
There  was energy in how he held himself.  
Hi, Do #2 and #3 have the same meaning as the first sentence?

Actually, # 2 isn't natural. "the way how" is redundant. Use one (the way) or the other (how), as you did in #1 and #3.

"way how" is not used. It is an exception.

All of these are used:

person who
thing which
place where
time when
reason why


But not way how!
