Where I live, in Japan, there is an opinion that without a teacher, children would manage to study in some case. However, I am most satisfied when I study with a teacher. Therefore, if given the chance, I prefer to have a teacher in studying.02br
00 What I appreciate most about study with a teacher is that a teacher is always helpful when I face difficult problems. For example, I think that the essence of education lies in solution of unknown questions. It dose not matter that student facing difficult question manages to solve it with references or dictionary, but compared to study with a teacher, efficiency is less than former. The advantage of study with a teacher is that facing difficult problem, a student can ask a teacher who knows way out of it. However, without a teacher, he has to seek the way out and answer for himself; that is to say, it may takes extra time to solve questions with only refferences or dictionary.02br
00 Another reason is that in independent study there is the possibility of passing problem of erroneous answer, not noticed.02br
00One example of this is that usually there is nothing but books such as dictionaries for dependable thing of independent study. Questions are not necessarily solved with dictionaries or references. In addition, even if they give answers for questins, a student does not necessarily understand process of solving questions. However, with a teacher, instant question to a teacher after facing unknown questions is avairable. He or she must give precise and appropriate advise to solve questions to students, and they do not have to spend time looking up dictionaries. Also, in indenpendent study, there is anybody to ask way to study, so that a learner often have to seek for efficient and correct way to study; that is to say, he or she cannot be convinced that his or her way of study is correct until establishment of the way. 02br
