I have a big doubt:
how do you say 2004 (or 2005,2020, etc)in English?
For instance before you used to say nineteen eighty-seven for 1987.

i'd say 'in two thousand and four', but i think i have heard people say for example 'in twenty ten' ... and remember the song 'in the year twenty five twenty five ... in the year fourty five fourty five' ...

As far as I'm concerned there's only one way to say it: two thousand and four. Some American speakers may omit 'and', though I'd advise against it.

In my opinion, it is a matter of liking and choice.
2004 can be read as ' twenty o four '
