Thank you

Could you tell me if you could use

2 times as small / twice as small

in any context or you just don't say that?

Thank you

Twice as big is fine. You tend to say half the sizeif it is 2x smaller (and a third. a quarter, a fifth, a sixth) Once you get to 5 you could then start saying 5x smaller but a fifth is better.

What about

2 times as small as

twice as small as

These are grammatically (and mathematically) correct, but we native speakers prefer "half as big".

What then, does "half as small" mean? Correct me if i'm wrong, but mathematically and grammatically, I would take it to mean twice the size. If smallness was a measure, and english grammar made sense, then wouldn't something that is "half as small" as something else therefore be twice the size?

Yes. We just happen not to say 'half as small'.
