2 sentences to correct

Is this correct formulation of sentence?

The more you think you are sick the more sick you will feel.

Is there anything wrong with the sentence? Is this something a native speaker would say?
He grew up never to know his parents as they had passed away.

Thank you

(The assumption is that the time frame is present not future.)

He grew up never knowing his parents as they had passed away.
(Again ‘to know’ is future tense, so we use ‘never knowing’.)

That's fine as it is. The 'will' here does not necessarily refer to the future; it could imply a habitual situation, as it does in:

John will always buy the first round when we go to the pub.
