Grammar

2 sentences, comma or semicolon

Trust me, you don't really want to be with me.

Is this written right? Or should it be two sentences? Or should I use a semi-colon?

Hello, MamaMia—and welcome to English Forums. You can do any of those things and it will be correct. You could even use a colon.

Thank you for your answer Mr. Micawber Emotion: smile I didn't know a colon could be used to separate independent clauses. Thank you.

It can if the first is explained by the second. Grammar books usually focus on the fact that the words after the colon need not be an independent clause only because it must be an independent clause in the case of semicolons and periods.
