2 quesions don't know if you can say

How would you say these if they are wrong ?

1 I went out to water the plants. I didn't know the jet would be so strong/powerful when I turned on the hose.
2 I should never have gone out with her. We should have stayed friends. I should have left/kept it at that. (can you say LEAVE/KEEP IT AT THAT IN THIS CONTEXT, what would you say?)
3 With these tweezer you won't be able to pluck the whole hair out along with the root, you'll just pluck out the visible part of the hair.
