2 grammar questions

1) We were all buffeted by the terrified crowd running.
or

We were all buffeted by the running terrified crowd .

which IS grammatically correct? why?


2)

She stared at her love rival (mean the one who compete with her for the same guy, I'm unsure about this word, but how can I express the idea in English away ?), affronted or affronting

I've seen people used afftonted and affronting, but which is better here?
