TOPIC: Some people think it is necessary to use animals for testing medicined intended for human use. Others, however, think it is cruel and unnecessary to do that. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

Whether animal testing is still needed or not is a controversial issue. While many claim that it is crucial step in drug development, others say that it an inhuman act and need to be stop. In this essay, I will analyze both the ideas and give my opinion.

On the one hand, conducting testing on animals is essential for studying medicine. Without it we cannot fully comprehend how drugs are absorbed and metabolized in a living body and thus, cannot ensure whether the drugs are safe for carrying out trial on human. Although there are several methods, such as tissue testing, and computer simulation, that also allowed researchers to anticipate how drugs interact with human body, data collected from practices are often inaccurate and unreliable.

On the other hand, many people believe that doing experiments on animals is morally wrong in many ways. They argue that animals also have their own emotions just like human and therefore, they deserve to be treated equally and respectfully. In fact, many studies about have shown that animals in laboratory constantly experience anxiety and depression due to all the testing that they have been through. If it is unethical for causing such fear and pain for any human-being, there is no plausible explanation for making those poor creatures being suffer for our own sake.

In conclusion, I agree that experiencing on animals is cruel, however, it is one of the most effective and probably the most accurate drug-testing methods that we currently have. Therefore, I think that until we can find a more suitable replacement, we still have to rely on animal testing for our medical research.
