16mm projector

I need to buy a 16mm film projector. Used. Around $400. I don't know what I'm doing. Any tips. Any brands? Anything to watch out for?

I'm sure others will lead you in the right direction, but I would imagine that, wiht the advent of digital video, you could find a good used 16mm projector for peanuts.

Thanks to everyone. Much good advice and you all seem to agree on some things.
Right now I'm looking at a Bell & Howell Model 1592 for $329 - guaranteed for one month - everything working fine. The guy is calling me back to make sure it has the Lathan Loop lever. He thinks it does. It has a "System Restore" lever to address "frame jitters." Maybe that's the same thing.
