12 pairs of corduroys (including..)

Hi teachers,

12 pairs of corduroys (including three in the same shade of chocolate brown)

>Does this person have "15" pairs or "12 pairs" only?

>Does "3 in the same shade of chocolate brown" mean "3 exactly the same color pants but different style"?

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Wordy,

Thank you for the answers.

Could I know if "corduroy" should take singular form if there is only "1" pair?

Thank you.

No, it's still "one/a pair of corduroys". The plural form is always used for the garment. "corduroy" is the material itself, so you would say "a pair of corduroy trousers", for example.
