110 in the shade????

I don't understand the following sentence which was written in reply to a post about humidity in Scotland
"yep. Humidity is great for the skin. Generally. Until it's 110 in the shade."

WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN????
Thanks in advance

I'm not "shouting" at all, because this is the INTERNET, so technically impossible!;)
Also my question was why there was a "in the shade" in the partial
sentence.

When someone refers to a high temperature in the shade, the implication is that it's even hotter in the sun.

Typing in all caps is considered the internet equivalent of shouting -- that is, its effect on the reader is similar to the effect of shouting on the listener.

so I could say that "in the shade" is an expression for talk about the temperatures in general? Or it only refers to high temperature?
