Yes. When it is a specific number, hundred/thousand/million etc. are always singular.
It cost eight hundred dollars.
It cost eight thousand dollars.
It cost eight hundred thousand dollars.
It cost eight million dollars.
When it is a general idea of the kind of number, hundred/thousand/million etc. are plural.
It cost hundreds of dollars.
It cost thousands of dollars.
It cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
It cost millions of dollars.
This also works with dozen (12) and score (20). Score is not widely used, though.
I bought a dozen eggs.
She bought three dozen eggs.
We bought dozens of eggs.
