Hello, could you please check whether the sentences below are correct. Inside the paranthesis I wrote the word that I want to use in the sentence. If I am using it wrong, will you please use it in a correct way. Thanks.

1-(derision)- With a conceited smile, he spoke to me with a derision towards my work.

2-(avowed)- He was delivering speeches in every corner of the country in order to become an avowed charachter in front of the public.

3-(aesthete)- He pretended as if he was an aesthete, however it was easy to see that his behaviours were pretended.

4-(languish)- The german government languished day by day, until the conditions led to government's downfall.

5-(bode well)- He was getting sicker gradually which didn't bode well for the chance of surviving .

6-(haul)- Hauling the ice-cream from his brother and running away, he left a crying boy and an angry mother behind.

7-(Prodigious)- Probably there are prodigious amount of stars in universe, even more than the number of every single sand particle in the world.

8-(contention)- The issue was a source of contention, thus seeing that there would be no use of futher discussing he ended the conversation.

9-(enact)- Government enacted a new law about throwing litter on the street.

10-(ingrained)- Having a sorrow deeply ingrained inside, he went to his home and never step on outsideworld again.
