"1.0 point" or "1.0 points"?

Hi.

Which is correct, "1.0 point" or "1.0 points"?
This description is intended for scientific or technical documents.

I have read that everything except "1" is accompanied by plural forms of unit.

Is that correct?

Thank you for your help.

The number "one" would seem to be pretty obviously singular - hence "one point". So I'm guessing that this question stems from the decimal point.

Would one say: "One point zero point" or "one point zero points"? Logically I suppose it should be the first, but the second sounds more natural.

I like the plural too.

One point.
But:

One point zero points.
