Hello, could you please check whether the sentences below are correct. Inside the paranthesis I wrote the word that I want to use in the sentence. If I am using it wrong, will you please use it in a correct way. Thanks.

1-(tempestuous)-They had a tempestuous relationship with a lot of ups and downs.

2-(persnickety)- Being a persnickety person often causes wasting your time on details and you never be able to finish your work on time.

3-(impute)- If a small child commits a crime, then it is very likely that the parents are imputed.

4-(carp)- There is always carping about small things amongst them.

5-(maladroit)- His only flaw is being maladroit, but I believe that he will manage it eventually.

6-(commensurate)- Everybody get what they deserve commensurately with their effort.

7-(eschew)- He had always eschewed the smallest actions which he regarded that as morally wrong.

8-(dote on)- There is a stereotype that only-children generally be spoiled because their parents dote on them.

9-(confound)- He was so confoundedly conceited that it was impossible to persuade him when he made mistakes.

10-(gloat)- The majority of the public in the world gloat over their country or nationality by thinking that they are the best.

Most of these words are used correctly. However there are some small problems.

1-(tempestuous)-They had a tempestuous relationship with a lot of ups and downs. [Okay]

2-(persnickety)- Being a persnickety person often causes you to waste ~~ing~~ your time on details so that ~~and~~ you are never be able to finish your work on time. [the last half is a conclusion, so "and" is not the right conjunction]

3-(impute)- If a small child commits a crime, then it is very likely that the parents are imputed to have failed. [Not a common word, but it needs a finishing thought, as per my example]

4-(carp)- There is always carping about small things amongst them. [Okay]

5-(maladroit)- His only flaw is being maladroit, but I believe that he will manage it eventually.

[As written, your sentence does not explain what the term means. You could easily replace "maladroit" with any number of terms without changing the wording. So you need to rewrite. I would say something more like: His only flaw is being maladroit, which is why he is so often covered with bruises. Clear?]

6-(commensurate)- Everybody gets what they deserve commensurate ly with their effort. [However, you might want to say "Everybody should get..."]

7-(eschew)- He had always eschewed the smallest actions which he regarded ~~that~~ as morally wrong. [Otherwise okay]

8-(dote on)- There is a stereotype that only children generally be are spoiled because their parents dote on them. [It is more common to say "an only child" because "only children" is open to confusion. You might be trying to say that "no one but children are spoiled."]
