Grammar

''1: to host an awards ceremony'' ''1a: to host a ceremony of awards''

Please check the following sentences.

1: to host an awards ceremony

1a: to host a ceremony of awards

2: emcee an awards dinner

2a: emcee a dinner of awards

I believe both 1 and 1a sentences are correct. But only 1a sentence seems correct to me when I compare its translated meaning to my native language's structure. Same goes for 2a.

Hello, Jackson-- long time, no see. What have you been doing? Neither is a sentence, but only #1 and #2 are good; the 1a and 2a may match your language, but are not natural English.
